is Kyoto&#8217;s one of biggest festival since 9th century.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Old Kyoto people started praying for no disease after an epidemic of plague, it was told it is the start of Gion-Matsuri.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This festival belongs to Yasaka-Shrine, but the main part of the festival is carrying portable shrines around Kyoto town. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Those portable shrines are called &#8220;Hoko&#8221; or &#8220;Yama&#8221; and its decoration is based on famous Japanese and Chinese story. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">They are reserved and taken care of by each local town inside kyoto-city and carried by each local town people during the Festival. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Each Hoko and Yama are decorated by various traditional artifacts and keep their own &#8220;Go-shintai&#8221;(means object of worship) inside.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Most of them were burned or destroid in the past domestic wars, but Kyoto people repair and rebuild them time after time, and Gion festival is still going on now a days&#8230;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And, There is one Yama base infront of our shop, and its famous for talisman for a happy marriage!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">All men and Women who is looking for love must check it out!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>\u3010\u4fdd\u660c\u5c71 (Hosho-yama)\u3011 <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a rel=\"attachment wp-att-8640\" href=\"https:\/\/www.j-cycle.com\/blog\/?attachment_id=8640\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8640\" title=\"CIMG1417\" src=\"https:\/\/www.j-cycle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/CIMG14171-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.j-cycle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/CIMG14171-400x300.jpg 400w, https:\/\/www.j-cycle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/CIMG14171-530x397.jpg 530w, https:\/\/www.j-cycle.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/CIMG14171.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This float depicts the story of Fujiwara Yasumasa (Hosho is another way to read his name in Japanese), an 11th century Japanese warrior.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">He loved a court lady, who entreated him to get some plum blossoms, which were blooming at the Imperial palace. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This float is, therefore, worshiped as the God of love, and on the festival eve, people can get a special talisman for a happy marriage in front of this float.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u3010discription for Another famous &#8220;Yama&#8221;,&#8221;Hoko&#8221;\u3011<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>\u3010\u9577\u5200\u927e\uff08Naginata-Hoko\uff09\u3011<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">this one is always going first of the &#8220;Yama&#8221;,&#8221;Hoko&#8221;
